Why Nudje?
The honest comparison: what the built-in apps do well, what the paid alternatives charge, and where Nudje is genuinely different. We've tried to be fair — check every claim.
Why not just use Apple Reminders or Google Tasks?
Because they fire once and give up. The built-in apps are fine for one-off tasks — they're weak exactly where habits fail: the reminder you swipe away without thinking. Nudje is the reminder app that keeps reminding you. Each ignored or rejected nudge makes the next one a little firmer, up to a cap you set, and a single Complete resets the tone. The defaults also don't do streaks, natively written phrases in your language, or caregiver profiles.
The closest alternative: Due
Due is a genuinely good persistent-reminder app — and it's Apple-only. If you're on Android, or your household is split across platforms, Due isn't an option. Nudje runs on iPhone and Android, syncs between them end-to-end encrypted, and escalates tone rather than repeating the same alert. On price: Due is cheaper up front (about $7.99 one-time, with a paid upgrade pass for features added after your first year); Nudje Lifetime is $49.99 once and includes all future updates, forever, on the platform of your choice.
Todoist and TickTick
Both are excellent task managers — and that's the difference: they manage projects, Nudje defends habits. On price and privacy the gap is wide. Todoist Pro runs about $60/year and TickTick Premium about $36/year, with your data readable on their servers. Nudje+ is $19.99/year, and sync is end-to-end encrypted — we cannot read your reminders at any price. There's no account at all unless you choose sync.
If privacy is the reason you're switching
Nudje needs no account, sets no advertising ID, shows no ATT prompt on iPhone, and sells nothing. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland it shows no ads at all. Optional sync is zero-knowledge: our servers store ciphertext only, and your recovery code is the only key. Few reminder apps can claim any one of these; we don't know another that claims all of them.
