Interval, fixed-time, and weekday schedules — and how quiet hours protect your nights.

The three schedule shapes
Interval — “every N minutes/hours.” Best for water, posture, and screen breaks. Add an active window so the cycle only runs during your day: “every 2 hours, 08:00–22:00” fires at 08:00, 10:00 … 22:00 and stays silent overnight.
Times — fixed clock times, daily. Best for medication and routines: 09:00 and 21:00, every day. Add as many times as you need.
Weekdays — chosen days, chosen times. Best for exercise and habits tied to a weekly rhythm: Monday/Wednesday/Friday at 18:00.
Quiet hours
Quiet hours are the window in which Nudje never escalates and never gets loud — 22:00 to 07:00 by default, adjustable globally in Settings and per reminder.
- A reminder scheduled inside quiet hours still fires, but always with the gentle tone.
- Escalation levels are ignored inside quiet hours, whatever they’ve climbed to.
- Quiet hours can wrap midnight (22:00–07:00 is exactly that).
Timezones and travel
Schedules follow your device clock. If you fly from Istanbul to Berlin, a 09:00 medication reminder fires at 09:00 local time. After a timezone change, Android reschedules automatically the moment the system announces it; iPhone catches up when you next open the app.
Exact timing on Android
For reminders to fire at exact times, Android asks for two things:
- Exact-alarm permission (Android 12+) — Nudje requests it the first time you save a reminder.
- Battery-optimization exemption — some manufacturers (Xiaomi, Samsung, Huawei and others) aggressively stop background apps, which can silently kill reminders.
